You Say It's Your Birthday

Well come this Thursday (3/19) it's my birthday too! I will be "gasp" 31 years old. I'm not sure how I feel about this new age. It seems awfully close to 40.

In an earlier posting this month, I promised to share some of my 30 year old wisdom. So here are some of the things I have learned:

1) It is worth it to me to pay a little more for quality products. This can apply to anything from chocolate to tires to hotel rooms to luggage.

2) Blogging about my life is fun and a bit of a mental release.

3) I still hate exercise but it makes me feel good while I am doing it and after I am finished.

4) My hair looks and styles much better when I'm in Arkansas or Oregon. It loves the humidity and hates the awful dry Utah air.

5) Family & friends are truly the most important things in my life.

6) I still do not like olives or cream cheese.

7) There is evidence of God's creation everywhere. Here are a couple of my favorite beautiful creations - Jensen Ackles & Joshua Jackson. No way did their DNA just come together out of some primordial ooze.

As promised, here are a few pictures from my February visit to Oregon to see Scott, Lisa, and the girls. Sage and Livi are two of the sweetest most beautiful little girls. I have always loved going to Oregon to see Sage. It is now doubly nice to get to know little Livi as well. Oh and by the way, all the outfits they are wearing in these pictures were bought by Auntie Amanda. I just can't help myself!!

Not a lot to say

I'm back from my vacation to Oregon. It was a wonderful break. I'll try to get some of my pictures posted soon. Last Tuesday (2/24) was my first day back and work and I've been running non-stop ever since then.

I had lunch at Famous Dave's with my parents this Saturday. My dad had ribs and Mom & I both had the bbq baked potato. We were not impressed with their food. It was all overcooked. The service, however, was very good. My favorite bbq restaurant is Corky's in Memphis, Tennessee. Their pulled pork is melt in your mouth fantastic!

My days of being 30 are coming to a close. I will turn 31 on March 19th. For the first time since 1995, I will get to celebrate on my birthday with my parents. The back-story here is that I was in Utah for Spring Break in 1996 and I've lived in Utah ever since. So this will be a special birthday for us! The plan is to see a play at the Hale Center Theater in Orem. It is called "All Shook Up" and here is the synopsis:

It is the story of of a square little town in the middle of a square state in the middle of a square decade where a lonely young girl dreams of hitting the open road. Into her life rides a guitar-playin' roustabout who changes everything. Combining all-time favorite Elvis hits with a healthy dose of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, All Shook Up is surefire fun for rock 'n' roll fans of all ages!

I guess that is it for now! I'll try to come up with a little wit and wisdom before I age another year.
