Confessions Part 3

It has been a long time since I've done any confessions. So here is my first confession post under my officially and now legal new name Amanda Lynn Thorn.

I confess I am super excited to see the royal wedding of Prince William & Cate Middleton. I'm setting the Tivo tonight - thank goodness I won't have to get up at 2:00AM MST to see it.

I confess that I think Star Wars Legos: The Clone Wars is a pretty sweet game. I like playing it and I also enjoy just watching my hubbie play.

I confess that I'll probably swing by Walgreens tomorrow and pick up some Easter Peeps that will be on sale. I'm thinking of dipping their bottoms in chocolate. Yummers!

I confess that even though I am a 33 year old married lady, I am still planning to see Disney's new movie "Prom". It looks adorable. Good thing I have some friends who feel the same way!

I confess that I have watched every single episode of TLC's "Say Yes to the Dress" (5 seasons on dvd so far). I can't wait for Season 6 to come out. I thought the appeal would wear off once I was finished with my wedding but that is not the case. In fact I love wedding stuff more than ever. The new Train song - "Marry Me" - love it!!

I confess that I still enjoy eating a favorite childhood food. I called it a cheeseburger but it was really a saltine cracker, topped with a piece of cheese, a dill pickle and another cracker.

Final confession and really no secret here. I love Robert Shawn Thorn will all my heart! He is definitely my soul mate, best friend, and love of my life.

Honeymoon Part 2 - San Diego Zoo

We spent the day after Christmas at the San Diego Zoo. Talk about a huge place!! Our feet were definitely tired after walking all over the park. The weather was sunny and it was a perfect day to spend at the zoo. Hope you enjoy our pictures!!

Robert in front of the marina - this was the view outside our hotel room
Another view from our hotel grounds in Mission Bay
Robert made friends with a lizard
Isn't Robert adorable creepy? I call this his "I'm going to kill you later" face

I, on the other hand, am amazingly adorable. Tee hee!
What a crazy looking bird!

Baby panda - I wanted to take him home!!

Aw, look at that face!
Aerial view of the zoo from our tram
The terrace where we at lunch

Of course the girl from Arkansas had to get a picture of a Razorback hog
Ew, that giraffe had a sticky tongue!!
Seriously, this was one of my favorite things on our trip!!

Robert's hand - they snatched the food so fast it was tough to get a picture

Birthday Trip to Oregon

For my 33rd birthday (and first birthday as a married lady), my dear husband Robert gave me a trip to Oregon to visit the Russells (Scott, Lisa, Sage & Livi). We were only there for four days but we managed to squeeze a lot into our trip. I can't believe how fast my nieces are growing up. Sage is three and Livi is two and they have such cute personalities. We went to the Portland Children's Museum, two French bakeries, and a hazelnut farm. Plus lots of fun time at home playing games, playing with the girls and having my birthday party. Thanks so much to the Russell's for such a fun trip. We love you guys!!

Check out Sage's hands on the hips pose! Too cute.
Next stop was Pix Patisserie - a charming French bakery

Such a cute little place

My passionfruit cake. It was delicious!
The wetlands area behind the Russell's house. I wanted a picture with the brown duck.
Our treats at another bakery - this time in Corvallis. Chocolate ganache cake, fruit tart, raspberry charlotte, & chocolate chip meringues were our choices and they were all delish!!
Sage loves watching Ina Garten on the Food Network with her dad. She knew all about chocolate ganache so she had to have this cake as her treat.

Livi contemplating her fruit tart

Our tummies were full and it was a happy day!!
Hazelnut ice cream with fresh hazelnuts on top then coated in chocolate, whipped cream and a chocolate covered hazelnut on top. Amazing!!!

Look at that expression of contentment! Livi definitely enjoyed her ice cream. Not sure why Scott looks melancholy

I would say Sage enjoyed hers too.

I think Livi enjoyed her piece!
Robert and I had such a wonderful trip. If it looks like we were eating all the time, that isn't far off. We had some delicious food on our visit. Good friends & good food- I couldn't ask for a better birthday.
