Birthday Trip to Oregon

For my 33rd birthday (and first birthday as a married lady), my dear husband Robert gave me a trip to Oregon to visit the Russells (Scott, Lisa, Sage & Livi). We were only there for four days but we managed to squeeze a lot into our trip. I can't believe how fast my nieces are growing up. Sage is three and Livi is two and they have such cute personalities. We went to the Portland Children's Museum, two French bakeries, and a hazelnut farm. Plus lots of fun time at home playing games, playing with the girls and having my birthday party. Thanks so much to the Russell's for such a fun trip. We love you guys!!

Livi & Sage with the crazy cow sculpture outside the museum

Check out Sage's hands on the hips pose! Too cute.
Next stop was Pix Patisserie - a charming French bakery

Such a cute little place

My passionfruit cake. It was delicious!
The wetlands area behind the Russell's house. I wanted a picture with the brown duck.
Our treats at another bakery - this time in Corvallis. Chocolate ganache cake, fruit tart, raspberry charlotte, & chocolate chip meringues were our choices and they were all delish!!
Sage loves watching Ina Garten on the Food Network with her dad. She knew all about chocolate ganache so she had to have this cake as her treat.

Livi contemplating her fruit tart

Our tummies were full and it was a happy day!!
Hazelnut ice cream with fresh hazelnuts on top then coated in chocolate, whipped cream and a chocolate covered hazelnut on top. Amazing!!!

Look at that expression of contentment! Livi definitely enjoyed her ice cream. Not sure why Scott looks melancholy

I would say Sage enjoyed hers too.

I think Livi enjoyed her piece!
Robert and I had such a wonderful trip. If it looks like we were eating all the time, that isn't far off. We had some delicious food on our visit. Good friends & good food- I couldn't ask for a better birthday.
