Confessions, part 2

I think Grace Kelly is one of the most beautiful, elegant, and talented stars ever.

I really want to take a nap right now. . .and I just did!

I love the Charleston Chews candy bar.

When I was younger, one of my favorite cartoons was a show called Jem.

I really like all the High School Musical movies.

I have a "Hello Kitty" poster in my room.

I like homemade pizza with broccoli on it.

I enjoy the musical stylings of Captain & Teneille.

Amanda is sick so she is going to take another nap.

Guilty pleasures - you know you have them

This will be a short post because I am a little tired of writing, having done so much lately for my English 2010 (Visual Writing) course.

The dictionary defines being guilty as being "responsible for or chargeable with a reprehensible act; deserving of blame". One definition of pleasure (I picked the tame one) is "frivolous amusement". My personal definition of a guilty pleasure is something you really enjoy but you don't share it w
ith people because you think they will judge you. Now I'm going to be brave and tell you some of mine - and I expect you to do the same in your comments.
  1. I love disco music.
  2. I still occasionally read "The Baby-sitters Club" books.
  3. I think the show "King of the Hill" is hilarious.
  4. I recently discovered that I enjoy eating potato chips dipped in ketchup.
  5. I have always thought that Vincent Price (from the old horror movies) was handsome.

Amanda is going grocery shopping tonight.

We are living in a cereal world

I was eating a bowl of Fruity Cheerios topped with fresh raspberries this morning and I thought it might be fun to post my thoughts on cereal. My plan was to make this a short post - but that did not happen.

First of all, I don't drink milk so I eat my cereal dry. That may be strange to some people, however the thought of soggy cereal makes me gag. To me cereal is more of a snack food. For breakfast it must be topped with some kind of fresh fruit - bananas, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, or strawberries will do. I don't really like hot cereals. I despise oatmeal but I eat it because it is very filling and helps me get my fiber in. Wow, I sound like an old lady. Let me just put my teeth in and we'll continue.

Because I eat my cereal dry I prefer sweeter cereals. Imagine eating Shredded What dry; it is like chewing on hay! I like most Cheerios varieties, Golden Grahams, Smorz, Lucky Charms. I am a big fan of cereal with
marshmallows. When I was younger I opened up hot cocoa packets just for the crunchy marshmallows. I remember the day when Fruit Loops came out with a marshmallow version. What a happy day! Now I could eat cereal without having to throw out all the cereal bits.

Now that you know what I like, let me tell you what I think your choices say about you. If you have a favorite I didn't mention, make a comment and I'll respond. Feel free to tell me what you think Fruit Loops marshmallow say about me.

Captain Crunch - You are still a kid at heart. Your secret dream is to be a pirate on the high seas.

Cheerios - You are a happy person with wonderful childhood memories. Your secret dream is to ride the top 10 roller coasters in the world.

Frosted Flakes - You want to make a sensible breakfast choice but you can't quite get away from that frosting. Your secret dream is to be locked overnight in Wal-Mart.

Grits - You long for the days of the old south. Your secret dream is to own a haunted plantation in Georgia.

Lucky Charms - You are an optimist who believes in good luck. Your secret dream is to win the lottery.

Raisin Bran
- You are calm and reserved. You like a place for everything and everything in its place. Your secret dream is to have your entire house organized before you die.

Special K - You are trying to be healthy and lose weight. Your secret dream involves donuts - lots and lots of donuts.

Trix - Silly Rabbit, Trix are for kids. What are you still doing eating them? Your secret dream is to beat up the Easter Bunny.

Amanda is listening to 80's tunes.

A little confession is good for the soul

I was going through some of the funny emails I've received when I found this video. Since it is all about confession, I figured it wouldn't hurt for me to confess a few things as well. So here goes. . .

I confess that I do not like the movie "It's a Wonderful Life". Frankly I find it to be a depressing and overly long movie. Even Jimmy Stewart and a happy ending don't quite balance out everything else you have to suffer through. I bet that right now some of you are thinking "what kind of a monster are you?" while others are probably secretly relieved that they aren't alone.

I confess that given the choice between a ham & cheese sandwich and a Portobello mushroom sandwich - I'll take the fungus every time.

I confess that I talk to myself all the time, especially when I am shopping.

I confess that I always start dancing in the middle of the aisle when I am in Harmon's grocery store and they play the song "Downtown" (by Petula Clark).

I guess those are all my confessions for now. I can't share all my secrets.

Amanda is feeling very liberated.
