Robert's 35th Birthday

Robert's birthday fell on a work night so we had a low key celebration. I had originally asked Robert what he wanted me to make for his birthday dinner. He never could decide so I just came up with my own idea. The meal was homemade buttermilk pecan pancakes with homemade syrup and a cinnamon peach compote.

He did pick his birthday cake - devil's food with sour cream fudge frosting. The recipe made enough cake for 3 huge layers so I did a single layer for his actual birthday and then served a double layer cake later at a small game party we threw. I always love cooking for my sweet husband. He's so appreciative!
